Annerieke Douma has over 15 years of experience in developing programmes and businesses. At Circle Economy, Annerieke is the Director of Global Alliances, with a focus on innovation and scaling the ambitions of the organisation. Recent accomplishments include the Thriving Cities programme development, lead by Annerieke in collaboration with Oxford economist Kate Raworth (DEAL) and city network C40, aiming at the developing thriving cities through co-creation of a new, integrated and holistic vision for cities. Additionally, she has launched successful partnerships with ICLEI and UN Environment in developing a programme on Circular jobs in Cities.
Annerieke has a passion for innovation and scaling of circularity and sees it as one of the major solutions for addressing climate change whilst allowing global economies to gain social, economic and ecological prosperity. Her professional career has seen the establishment of a successful consultancy firm, guiding sustainable brands at multinational corporations. Previous to joining Circle Economy, Annerieke was responsible for organising the Netherlands as a Circular Hotspot Campaign during the Dutch EU presidency which has resulted in a global network of circular hotspots (Holland Circular Hotspot). Currently, Annerieke holds a seat on the FORCE (EU) and AMFI advisory board.
