Pepe Alvarez Junco will talk about his latest and very interesting book entitled “Dioses últiles. Naciones y nacionalismos.” Mr. Alvarez is a History Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the Complutense University in Madrid. From 1992 to 2000 he held the chair of Principe de Asturias of the Department of History at Tufts University (Boston, Massachusetts), and headed the Iberian Studies Seminar of the Centre for European Studies at Harvard University. During the 1980s and 1990s, he was a visiting professor at several foreign universities, including Oxford and the Sorbonne in Paris. Between 2004 and 2008 he was the Director of the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies and State Advisor. His publications are focused on the Spanish history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
