FP Cote d’Azur welcomes Thomas Schlesser, fondation Hartung’s Director, professor et historian.

After a Ph.D in History and Civilization at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes , Thomas Schlesser publishes a thesis under the title Courbet’s receptions,  realistic fantasies and paradoxes of democracy ( Les Presses real 2007). Thomas Schlesser is dedicated specifically to the links between aesthetic fields and politics. He publishes studies on caricature , censorship, and on the course of the artist Paul Chenavard . He also worked at the National History of Art Institue as head for studies and research. He teaches at several institutions : the École du Louvre, at Sciences Po , the Esag – Penninghen and Polytechnic . In 2013, he campaigned for the transfer of Gustave Courbet’s remains to the Pantheon . In January 2014, Thomas Schlesser was appointed director of the Hartung- Bergman Foundation in Antibes.
